Day-wise Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Arrive Cochin and transfer to Munnar (135 km/approx. 5 hours)
On arrival at Cochin Airport or Railway Station you will be transferred to munnar. Upon arrival at munnar check-in at the Hotel.
Munnar is a town in the Western Ghats mountain range in India’s Kerala state. A hill station and former resort for the British Raj elite, it’s surrounded by rolling hills dotted with tea plantations established in the late 19th century. Eravikulam
National Park, a habitat for the endangered mountain goat Nilgiri tahr, is home to the Lakkam Waterfalls. Rest of the day is at leisure. Overnight stay at hotel.
DAY 2: Munnar Sightseeing
After breakfast, proceed to sightseeing including- Echo Point, Mattupatti Dam- Mattupetty is situated at a height of 1700 m above sea level. Mattupetty Lake and Dam is a beautiful picnic spot with the panoramic view of the tea plantations and the lake. Boating facilities are available in the reservoir, Photo Point, Eravikulam National Park (Closure Period: February & March), Blossom Park, Flower Garden, Tea Museum. Later return back to the hotel & overnight stay. (B).
DAY 3: Drive from Munnar-Thekkady (100 Kms – 5 hours)
After breakfast, proceed to Thekkady for your stay. Upon arrival at Thekkady check-in at your Hotel.
Thekkady is a town near Periyar National Park, an important tourist attraction in the Kerala state of India. The name Thekkady is derived from the word “thekku” which means teak. Temperatures are lowest in the months of December–January and highest in the months of April–May.
Throughout this journey, you can enjoy the spice plantation visit like cardamom and pepper, the elephant ride, check in to the hotel, refresh, and enjoy the boating (tickets can be purchased online at https://www.periyarfoundation.online/)att the Periyar Lake. In the evening, enjoy the kathakali dance performance, return to the hotel, and overnight at the hotel. (B)
DAY 4: Drive from Thekkady to Alleppey (200 km/approx. 5 hours)
After breakfast, proceed to Allepy for your stay. Upon arrival at Alleppey check-in at your Hotel.
Alappuzha (or Alleppey) is a city on the Laccadive Sea in the southern Indian state of Kerala. It’s best known for houseboat cruises along the rustic Kerala backwaters, a network of tranquil canals and lagoons. Alappuzha Beach is the site of the 19th-century Alappuzha Lighthouse. The city’s Mullakkal Temple features a traditional design. Punnamada Lake’s snake boat races are a well-known annual event. Rest of the day is at leisure. Overnight stay at hotel. (B)
DAY 4: Departure from Cochin
After breakfast, we say our goodbyes and proceed to airport/railway station for onward destination.
Hit the road to the airport. Board our flight back home reminiscing the wonderful memories of the holiday and of course start planning the next trip. (B)
