Day-wise Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Guwahati Station / Guwahati Airport– Cherrapunjee (4400 Ft / 100 Kms / 04 Hrs)

On arrival at Guwahati Railway Station / Guwahati (GAU) Airport you will be received by our representative who will assist you to board your vehicle to Cherrapunjee.  Enroute visit Umium Lake, a majestic palacid lake with its surrounding sylvan hills. On arrival at Cherrapunjee, check in at your hotel.

Cherrapunjee, also known as Sohra, is a high-altitude town in the northeast Indian state of Meghalaya. It’s known for its living root bridges, made from rubber trees. To the northeast, Mawkdok Dympep Valley View Point overlooks verdant gorges. In the surrounding hills, the Noh-Kalikai, Dain-Thlen and Kynrem waterfalls plunge from forested clifftops. South of town, Mawsmai Cave is illuminated to show its stalagmites. Evening free for relaxation. Overnight stay at Cherrapunjee.

DAY 2: Excursion to Cherrapunjee (4400 Ft / 65 Kms / 03 Hrs)

After an early breakfast visit beautiful waterfall known as Nohkalikai. You can also explore the caves known as Mawsmai. Later return back to your hotel and Relax.  Overnight stay at Cherrapunjee. (B). 

DAY 3: Cherrapunjee – Shillong – Excursion To Dawki (4906 Ft /100 Kms / 04 Hrs)

After Breakfast Drive to Shillong. Enroute vist Dawki enjoy boat ride on river while returning to visit Mawlynnong – “Asia’s Cleanest Village”. Mawlynnong offers many interesting sights such as the living room bridge and another strange natural phenomenon of a boulder balancing on another small rock. Upon arrival checking at your hotel and rest of the day is free for relaxation. Overnight stay at Shillong. (B).

DAY 4: Shillong Sightseeing

After breakfast drive to Mawphlang (35kms/ 1 ½ hour’s drive approx). At Mawphlang visit sacred groove, later drive to Mawsynram (26 Kms from Shillong) it is known for the Giant Stalagmite formation shaped into a “Shivalinga” and found inside a cave known locally as ‘Mawjymbuin’. A unique geological formation called “Symper Rock”. Overnight Stay at Shillong. (B).

Note- Most waterfalls dry in winter.

DAY 5: Shillong – Guwahati (2231 Ft /100 Kms / 04 Hrs)

After an early breakfast drive to Guwahati “Capital city of Assam”. On arrival at Guwahati, check in at your hotel.

Guwahati is a sprawling city beside the Brahmaputra River in the northeast Indian state of Assam. It’s known for holy sites like the hilltop Kamakhya Temple, featuring shrines to the Hindu deities Shiva and Vishnu. To the east, 18th-century Navagraha Temple is an astronomical center with planetary shrines. Umananda Temple, dedicated to Shiva and covered with engravings, stands on Peacock Island in the river. Later proceed to visit Maa Kamakhya temple – The temple is dedicated to goddess Kamakhya, an incarnation of Sati. It is on Nilachal hill, says the Shiva Purana that the yoni or creative organ of Sati fell when Vishnu, in a bid to save the world from the Shiva’s tandava nrittya or dance of destruction, cut her dead body into 51 pieces with his suddarshan chakra. Also visit Navagraha temple, Umananda temple, Balaji Temple, state Zoo. Overnight stay at Guwahati. (B)

DAY 6: Guwahati – Guwahati (Ghy) Station / Guwahati Airport (100 Kms / 04 Hrs)

After breakfast, we say our goodbyes and proceed to airport/railway station for onward destination.

Hit the road to the airport. Board our flight back home reminiscing the wonderful memories of the holiday and of course start planning the next trip. (B)

CARRIER ON VEHICLE IS NOT ALLOWED IN THIS PART

• Services of the vehicle on leisure days and for sightseeing not included in the itinerary
• Difference in cost arising due to extra usage of additional services, changes in taxes by Government or political unrest, natural calamities (Landslide/ road blockage) etc. in such cases extra will have to be paid on the spot by guests.
• All alcoholic/aerated beverages, mineral water and starters
• Camera fees
• Medical and travel insurance

IMPORTANT: VTPL will provide an alternate or similar category of hotel in case the hotel mentioned in the package is overbooked.

• All the passengers must have Identification Card/Passport with them for internal flights.
• Early check-in and late check-out is subject to availability and charges if any is not included in the package.
• Depending on feasibility the travel itinerary flow is subject to change.
• Incase there is any change in price the same will be communicated to yourself and only after your confirmation, we will proceed further. There will be no reduction for un-utilized services
